I just couldn't stay away...

This CD was quite a nice treat while waiting for a delicious pop-punk band's next release, which was only recently debuted. It features all acoustic songs, of which only one was previously released. Make Yourself at Home also has live videos of the band performing songs that were to be released on their newest album... This song gives me great memories and makes me remember that things can always be better when you think of the ones you care for most... no matter who they are. So if you like the Starting Line's pop-punk style or not, acoustic is always a nice change for a band and is hard to disagree with... Here is my choice pick off of their 2003 acoustic EP release, Make Yourself at Home.

"Lasting Impressions" - The Starting Line (Website, Lyrics)

Another random pop-punk song. This time, it's from a classic band that is hard not to love. This song is basically mindless, but it's fun nonetheless. All about complications and confusions of the teenage mind. Politics, politics... That's all it's about. Why should you care, anyway? An anthem for any "rebellious" teen... Or any MXPX fan who has the power to withstand the wait for new music by them, for the label war, for the strange collaborations on their last album or the lack of powerful lyrics in their older music...

"Teenage Politics" - MxPx (Website, Lyrics)

Soulful. Powerful. Beautiful. Three words that only but sum up the wonder that is this queen of music. She's been around for years and is still considered one of the greatest recording artists of all time. Provided she may have fallen into a trend that many artist tend to nowadays (lipsynching, but I believe it's only due to age and deterioration of energy of some sort), she is still a great artist and a model for generations to come. She is the symbol that looks should not matter whatsoever in the music business, any size is beautiful, and skinny white blondes are not the only women capable of holding a recording contract. In one of her most powerful songs ever about being used and moving on... Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools."

"Chain of Fools" - Aretha Franklin (Website, Lyrics)

I do hope that you enjoyed today's edition of the blog. I think that I'm going to start hosting on rapidshare or something. Which do you prefer: YouSendIt or RapidShare? Should I do away with the reviews and just post songs or...? Any suggestions?
Robert, I'm going to post your request next time. I already had these songs prepared...

Hey! Kylie here. I personally yousendit.com better. RapidShare is weird and takes too long. I should do a MP3 Blog as well, but I'm too lazy. I just like to upload songs once in a while and send to people. Hehe. :-D I love you. <3

Kylie again- Yeah, I <3 your reviews. You're going to be a music magazine editor one day! :-D And I'll share the wealth with you. Haha.

Rapidshare lasts a little longer and gives everone a chance to dowload. Yousendit is nicer to use, but with the chance of missing a song or a song getting deleted by someone.
I love your reviews. Don't stop that!
